The rapid growth of the Chinese church

This is an absolutely fascinating article on the rapid growth of the Chinese church. It blows me away, shames me and causes me to think. Read it and let me know your thoughts.

My questions are: In our American context, is this possible? Can we see this sort of explosion? Are we willing to pay the price for this sort of explosive growth?

I really enjoyed, but was almost tormented reading this. I have this deep desire to see the church breathing and multiplying like this.

Possible? I think it is extremely unlikely but entirely possible for the church to have an explosion like this in America.

Are we willing to pay the price? I know I haven't been. But I WANT to be.

Hear is what I find most interesting about that article....all 23 things seemed to put an emphasis on man and what they were doing. While we have a part to play as we often talk about, I think we often forsake what God is doing.

I believe the Gospel is being proclaimed in China and God is drawing people to himself and changing people. God and the Gospel are changing people, not 23 steps to rapidly growing your church.

We can reproduce all of that, but if the Gospel is not at the center of it all nothing will change.

Hey Frankie : )
I guess when I read that, I see those 23 things as mere observations of what God IS DOING, not a sort of "how-to" guide on 23 ways to build a mega church that we see so often. I think we're talking about people so desperate for God that The Holy Spirit is ACTUALLY living and dwelling and moving in them. Because they are ALLOWING and actively INVITING Him to.
