I don't intentionally try to offend people. If I do think I might offend you I try and give you a warning ahead of time. But there are times when something I say or something I do offends someone. It just happens. And I feel bad about it.
I was thinking about this and I came across this blog from Mark Batterson. It's a good reminder. I'd love to know what you think after reading it.

I guess that makes sense... I think perhaps I am slow because I'm having a difficult time envisioning what that concept would look like played out in "real life" (something other than the extreme example of the betrayal of Jesus). The only thing I can think of personally is that when someone offends me I have a tendency to then want to totally discount everything they say from that point on, obviously a sinful attitude... but I'm not sure that's what he's talking about.
Jesus offended people all the time. When he called the Pharisees white-washed tombs, they were a little offended...
I think, it's easy to offend people... a lot easier than we would even imagine because of the focus of today's world is on one's self. When the world preaches that you should do what's right for you, it is also saying that you need to not do anything that might discount someone else's "right," if that makes sense :)
I think one of the Bible's purposes is to offend; otherwise, we can't grow. Sometimes, it takes a long time to realize that God is right! I know, it shouldn't, but it does.
